St John's Raceway wrapped up its 2013 season Monday afternoon with a seven-race card, and Dustylane Wildbill captured the featured NLSBA Stake Race for a trainer/driver tandem that enjoyed a big day at the track.
Driven by Shane Forward and trained by Scott Forward, who teamed up to win four races on the matinee program, Dustylane Wildbill sliced out splits of :30.2, 1:01.4 and 1:32.3 in the event for two and three-year-old pacers before using a :32.1 closing quarter to win by nine lengths in 2:04.4. Salmonier Storm, Son Of Rocknroll and Brandishing rounded out the order of finish.
It was the third consecutive victory for the three-year-old son of SS Sand Dollar-Shes A Hotty, who is owned by Joanne Forward of Goulds, Newfoundland. The seven-time winner has hit the board in all but one of his 13 lifetime starts.
