Tight Lines won the Open Trot at Dover Downs on Tuesday night (Jan. 7).

Driver Ross Wolfenden gave Tight Lines a patient steer. They maneuvered through the wind, rain and snow and won by a well measured length.

Homen Dry and driver Tyler Davis left quickly and forced Cruising In Style and driver Corey Callahan to settle for the pocket. Homen Dry cut fractions of :27.3, :57.1 and 1:25.3 while Bluebird Jesse and Tim Tetrick were parked the mile as the 8/5 second choice. Faithfulandtrue pulled at the half and pressured Homen Dry through a :28.2. third quarter.

Tight Lines, who was fifth most of the mile, tipped four wide around the final turn. Both trotters dueled down the lane. Tight Lines proved to be the best and won by a length in 1:55.1 as the 7/5 favourite.

Tight Lines is owned by trainer Jeff Gregory, Jesmeral Stable and W.H. Richardson. The seven-year-old son of Yankee Glide collected his sixth victory in the slop.

Royal Becca J finished second for driver Jack Parker Jr. and trainer Carol Jamieson- Parker. Homen Dry finished third for driver Tyler Davis and trainer Brian Malone.

Wiggle It Jiggleit is scheduled to compete in Race 12, an Open/Preferred Pace, on Thursday night (Jan. 9). First-race post is set for 4:30 p.m.
