On Monday, January 6 at Monticello Raceway, driver Jimmy Devaux steered eight-year-old mare Red Eye Blue Chip to her fifth consecutive victory.
Sent off as the second choice on the board, Red Eye Blue Chip sped away from the gate, gained command on the first turn, and then allowed P H Dreamer to take the lead and cut the fractions over the ‘muddy’ racecourse.
Devaux and ‘Red Eye’ followed throughout until they reached the top of the lane. Devaux then moved his charge to the passing lane and she went on to out-foot P H Dreamer to the wire. The one-length win was clocked in 2:03.1.
Red Eye Blue Chip returned $5.80 on a successful Win wager.
