The team behind pacing star Well Said were among those honoured at the 74th annual New Jersey Sports Writers Association Banquet at Pines Manor on January 31, 2010.

Steve Elliott, Standardbred Horseman of the Year, and Standardbred Breeders of the Year Mark Mullen of Fair Winds Farm and Steve Jones of Cameo Hills Farm were among the athletes, coaches and members of the media saluted at the banquet.

It was at Mullen’s Cream Ridge, New Jersey farm where Well Said was born on March 25, 2006 to the broodmare, Must See, whom Jones and Mullen bought in partnership. And it was Elliott who trained the 2009 Three-Year-Old Pacer of the Year whose victories included the Meadowlands Pace, North America Cup and Little Brown Jug. He retired with victories in 14 of 26 starts and earnings of nearly $2.6 million.
