Trot Insider has learned Berry Nice Muscles, the dam of multiple stakes-winning Creatine, died as a result of injuries suffered in a mishap earlier today at Diamond Creek Farm in Paris, Kentucky.
"She was involved in an apparent accident in the field this morning,” said Adam Bowden, owner and manager of Diamond Creek Farm. “We found her down in the snow and before the vet arrived she died."
The vet was unsure but though the cause could have been a broken neck.”
According to Bowden, Berry Nice Muscles was carrying a full sibling to Creatine (1:52.2 - $867,159) and was due in May. Creatine was a stakes star in 2013 thanks to wins in major events like the Colonial, the Carl Erskine and the Kentucky Futurity.
