Red Star Dana converted off a perfect pocket trip to win the $10,000 final of the Miss Onager Claiming Series while trainer Bill 'The Dominator' Davis sent out a perfect three starters to highlight a foggy Friday night of harness racing at Fraser Downs.

Trained and driven by Scott Knight in the final for $5,500 claiming mares, Red Star Dana followed Red Star Brooklyn and David McKellar throughout the mile before out-sprinting that mare in the stretch for the two and a half length victory in 1:56.2. 'Dana' was part of the 9-2 second choice entry and paid $11.20 to win.

The seven-year-old Bilateral mare was claimed by Victoria's Robert Collier for $3,750 at Fraser on Nov. 1, 2013. The win was her third in nine starts for his new connections and 13th lifetime.

She finished fourth on Jan. 3 and a close second over a sloppy track on Jan. 10 in the preliminary legs of the Miss Onager. Her victory in the final was just one-fifth of a second off her lifetime mark, taken in a qualifier as a five-year-old.

In other action, Bill Davis' stable went three-for-three on the 11-dash card giving his training average an early season boost to an impressive 0.631 (11-0-3 in 19 starts). Davis' winners were Call Me Up ($4.50), the streaking Garden Gate Ll ($3.20) and I Dont Really Care ($9.50).
