The Hiawatha Horse Park has announced that an agreement has been reached between itself and the Ontario Harness Horse Association in regard to the current simulcasting impasse

.

Hiawatha has announced that starting Thursday, January 21 the simulcast room will be back up and running.

Hiawatha and OHHA have agreed to extend their existing contract and will continue to discuss a new one that will benefit both the local horseman and the racetrack.

The track also would like to notify Horseplayer Interactive (HPI) customers to watch for daily updates on a return to service.

The Hiawatha release states that the track regrets the interruption to the simulcast program, and that the return to betting will be kick-started with the ROMP handicapping challenge where over $10,800 in prize money is up for grabs for astute punters.

The handicapping challenge will run for the remaining six weeks of the contest, with four weeks of play needed to qualify for the lucrative finals
