Friday the 13th proved to be unlucky for trotter Fox Valley Summit as his routine spin around Flamboro Downs' half-mile track was hampered by the drag of a one-wheel sulky.

Fox Valley Summit was racing third along the pylons around the turn in his seventh race claiming assignment when the left wheel of his sulky fell off. Fortunately, the trailing horses were able to move around the seven-year-old trotter as he slowed down with driver J.R. Plante still aboard the crooked bike.

The John Janes trainee appeared to avoid any serious injuries during the incident.
