According to a report, Prince Edward Island will be the home of a new trotting stallion beginning in the 2012 breeding season

.

A report by Nick Oakes in The Guardian has explained that Duke Maccallum, a son of Duke Of York, will be stood in New Haven by Mitchell Tierney.

The five-year-old former Ontario Sires Stakes Gold horse emerged victorious from three of his 11 career starts and took a mark of 1:56 over Woodbine Racetrack at age four.

Duke Maccallum was part of a unique occurrence while in victory on March 17, 2011 at Woodbine.

The win proved to resonate throughout the MacDonald family.

The patriarch of the family, Fred 'The Prophet' MacDonald, bred Duke Maccallum, but Fred's sons had all the other bases covered that night, as the trotter was driven to victory by Mark MacDonald for trainer Anthony MacDonald and owner James MacDonald.
