Corey Callahan wasted no time putting Lorrie Please on the lead in Friday’s $30,000 Fillies & Mares FFA Handicap at The Meadowlands, and once she got to the top it was game over for the others.
Lorrie Please powered away from her pole position perch and sprinted through panels of :26.1, :55.3 and 1:23.3 before using a :27.1 closing quarter to win in 1:50.4. She secured weekly bragging rights in the featured tilt for the distaffers by defeating Ramalama and Hot List, who also found their way onto the ticket.
Douglas Lewis conditions the seven-year-old daughter of Western Ideal-National Gallery for owners Allan Kaplan, Ira Kaplan and David Scheib. It was the second win of the season in as many tries for the 35-time winner who is quickly closing in on $500,000 in lifetime earnings.
