This Saturday, January 28, Canada will recognize its 2016 harness racing champions at the O’Brien Awards Gala. To celebrate the O’Briens the I Love Canadian Harness Racing Fan Club has put together an online handicapping contest for members to select the winners from each of the 18 categories.
When making your selections, think about the horses and people in each division and how they have performed and made a significant contribution to Canadian harness racing over the past season.
Each category is worth one point with the exception of Canada’s Horse of the Year which is worth three points. The member that earns the highest number of points out of a possible 20 will be declared the winner.
The winner will receive a $50 Fan Club prize package and a $50 gift certificate to the racetrack of their choice OR a $50 donation to a registered Standardbred charity of their choice.
The O’Brien Award winners will be announced at the annual Black Tie Gala on Saturday, January 28, 2017 at the Hilton Mississauga / Meadowvale Hotel in Mississauga, Ont.
The contest will close January, 28 at 6:00 p.m. (EST).
