This past Saturday (Sept. 29), Three Olives was euthanized at the age of 19 after having suffered from an intestinal blockage.

A son of Jennas Beach Boy-Mood Indigo, Three Olives earned $1.022 million during his racing career and established a lifetime mark of 1:51 during his sophomore campaign. Owned by L&L Devisser LCC during his racing career, Three Olives was trained by Joe Seekman and Joe Holloway.

As a two-year-old, Three Olives captured the $115,150 American-National Stake, the $40,000 Hanover Stake and the $50, 000 Review Stake. He was also a Kentucky Sire Stakes champion, was second in the $1.12 million Metro Stakes and third in the $968,502 Breeders Crown for his age, gait and gender.

As a three-year-old, Three Olives acquitted himself admirably in stakes competition, as he was fourth in the $1.5 million North America Cup, second in the $74,500 Jug Preview and fourth in a $177,000 division of the Tattersalls Pace. His most high-profile victory that season was in the $280,000 Windy City Pace.

After he was retired from competition, Three Olives stood at Winbak Farm in Delaware, Indiana, and Ohio.

The stallion's progeny collected $9,078,747 with his top performer being Somethinginthewind (p, 6, 1:49.0f, $427,166).
