On Wednesday the Chase Community Giving Program announced the 25 charities that will compete for a $1 million grant and one has a strong tie to harness racing

.

A Spring Of Hope, the foundation created by racehorse owner Richard Young's daughter, Brittany and wife, Joanne that was featured in the January 2011 issue of Trot Magazine, builds wells for schools in impoverished areas in Africa. This charity is pitted against four others as Chase has set up five brackets. The charity in each bracket that gets the most votes will advance to the finals. The organization with the most votes in the finals receives a $1 million grant and a TV special airing nationally in December.

"We were contacted from Chase a few weeks ago, we got $130,000 from them last year and they asked if we wanted to do it again," said Joanne Young. "We're most excited. The exposure would be phenomenal!"

A Spring Of Hope is a finalist in the Champions of Health & Wellness category. To vote for A Spring Of Hope, visit the Chase Community Giving page on facebook by clicking this link: A Spring Of Hope - Chase Community Giving contest.

Thank you for the support James. We are up against it this time.We are competing with charities who have million dollar operating budgets.Ours is zero. All of our charity money goes to help the charity not pay salaries. We were also put in the wrong catagory making it that much harder.Shoot Id vote for the Cancer one lol. Every penny spent to try to win this is coming from horse winnings.Whoops I forgot I dont have any this yr. smile

Great charity Richard and you have my support and vote and please contact me.
