One of harness racing's most recognizable race callers will step back into the booth at Mohawk Racetrack on Monday night, and in turn will be making his "Bet Night

Live" debut.

Announcer Frank Salive has received the call to pinch-hit with Ken Middleton on vacation and both Greg Blanchard and Chad Rozema on the Bet Night show.

"It'll be really great to go back to Mohawk to work with the crew, horsepeople and management on Monday evening's program," Salive told Trot Insider. "The 'Bet Night Live' concept is a bold step forward and really great.

"It should be a great program with two Ontario Sires Stakes Gold Finals," Salive continued "The OSS has been a great part of my life and career since 1974; to get two Gold Finals on Monday evening is a special treat."

Blanchard called the races from Thursday to Saturday, and Rozema will pick up the duties for Tuesday night's card. The ever gracious Salive always appreciates returning to the booth for WEG, where he called thousands of races until leaving for Western Fair at the end of 2005.

"Personally, I'm really thankful to be on Bruce Murray and Jamie Martin's list of pinch-hitters for the 17 weeks I'm back in Canada from late May to late September until racing resumes at Pompano on October 16, and of course to get hired back by the Summer seasonal tracks in Ontario and Tioga Downs too since I can now work in both countries. It's been an exhilarating time lately with working at Clinton, Woodstock, Hanover, Tioga Downs, and Rideau Carleton last Sunday too for their Night Of Champions."

I can say this Mr. Frank no one has been as great an ambassador for the sport of Harness Racing. Thank you Frank.

Tom Hebert.

can't wait to hear Frank call the races at Mohawk again!! even if it is for just 1 night

Marie Stoyles-Moura

The mold was broken after Frank was made. Hated many of the outcomes, but even loved the way he called those. A great caller, and a great ambassador for the game.
Best wishes!

So excited to have Frank back to Mohawk, if only short term, looking forward to hearing him call the races!

Just call him the "Get-around-guy". We at Clinton and Hanover, are so pleased to have Frank back in the booth for the summer months. That voice--smooth as a babies bottom! Hope to see you before you head south again, Frank. If not, maybe in Florida this winter?
