Hestherightstuff ($3.50) and driver Marcus Miller captured the $11,000 featured pace on Sunday (Aug. 13) at Tioga Downs.
Machiatto A (Ridge Warren) grabbed the early lead but Hestherightstuff went on by just before hitting the quarter first in :27.3. He used a :28 second quarter to be first to the half in :55.3. Western Beachboy (Corey Braden) went first-up going down the backstretch and challenged for the lead. Hestherightstuff was first to three-quarters in 1:23.4. As they made the turn for home, Hestherightstuff shook off Western Beachboy and had to brace for the challenge from Machiatto A and Vulcan Star N (Tyler Miller). Hestherightstuff dug in and won in 1:52.2. Michiatto A was second best and Vulcan Star N finished third.
Hestherightstuff is a six-year-old gelding by American Ideal. He is owned and trained by Gary Levine and recorded his fifth win this season. He now has 18 career victories.
Miller had a natural hat trick. He got his other wins partnering with his father, trainer Erv Miller, finishing first with Anotherstatement A and Orlando Blue A.
