Totally Toxic, Lovin Presley Headline Mohawk Qualifiers

Woodbine Mohawk Park carded 11 qualifiers for two-year-olds on Friday morning (July 7) with Totally Toxic and Lovin Presley headlining the card.

Totally Toxic opened up the Friday qualifying card, posting the fastest pace of the day in 1:55.4.

Doug McNair was in the bike for trainer Gregg McNair as they went to the gate from post five in the field of eight freshman colts and geldings. Acefortyfour Hawk (Steven Hudon) was the first out of the gate and to the front, followed by Timeisonmyside (James MacDonald), Jayport Beach Boy (Jonathan Drury), and then Totally Toxic in fourth. The field maintained its single-file stature through the quarter in :28.2 and half in :56.3. Sailors Shadow (Louis-Philippe Roy) got the ball rolling on an outer charge, but the top four remained unchanged as they passed the three-quarters in 1:25.4. Totally Toxic pedaled forward with a last quarter in :29 en route to a 1-1/4-length victory in 1:55.4. Timeisonmyside finished second and Acefortyfour Hawk was third.

Totally Toxic (Courtly Choice - Shes Poison - Western Ideal) is owned by Aaron Waxman, David Jarvis and Alan Alber.

Desiree Jones trainee Lovin Presley produced the fastest trot time of the day, a mile in 1:59.1.

Gino Toscani took position on the rail with Lovin Presley. The pair sailed to the front and never looked back as they posted fractions in :30, :59.1 and 1:28.4. Down the stretch, Lovin Presley continued to open up the distance between himself and his competitors, crossing the wire 5-3/4 lengths in front in 1:59.1. Private Access (Louis-Philippe Roy) was second and Coppereagle (James MacDonald) finished third.

Owned by Gino Toscani, Lovin Presley is a son of Father Patrick and the Andover Hall mare Celebrity Lovin.
