Following his historic victory in the $500,000 William R. Haughton Memorial on Saturday night at The Meadowlands, the sport's fastest racehorse Bulldog Hanover has returned home to the care of trainer and co-owner Jack Darling in Ontario.
Darling shared that the four-year-old son of Shadow Play arrived home safe and sound on Sunday after his successful stint stateside with Noel Daley at The Meadowlands in East Rutherford, New Jersey.
"I want to thank everyone for the well wishes... I feel so fortunate to be involved with this great horse and it makes me happy to know that so many of you recognize and appreciate his excellence," said Darling in a social media post that shows the big dog enjoying bananas at his stable.
Amazed by Bulldog Hanover's talent, Darling also shared that the world champion threw a shoe going around the first turn during his epic 1:45.4 mile.
Bulldog Hanover is a career winner of 21 races and has banked $1.45 million from 29 starts for the Cambridge, Ont. horseman and co-owner Brad Grant of Milton, Ont.
