A three-win performance during Thursday’s 11-race card at Flamboro Downs helped driver Travis Henry leap-frog past James MacDonald for this season’s top spot in the national drivers’ standings.

Henry posted wins with Galterio Hanover (1:59.3), Big Bang Boom (1:55.3) and Always N The Money (1:57.1). The hat trick performance gives Henry 84 wins for the season and a slim lead over fellow reinsmen James MacDonald (82 wins) and Brett MacDonald (80 wins) for dash wins with the first three months of the year in the books.

The card also turned out to be a memorable one for trainer Michelle Olson who nabbed her first lifetime victory thanks to a triumph with Slim Shady (1:58.2).

Aaron Byron guided the gelding, who is also owned by Olson, to the winning effort after treating the seven-year-old son of Mister Big-Shadys Ace to a two-hole trip.

After going winless in 12 starts during last year’s rookie season, Olson now boasts a 1-1-2 record from just eight starts this season.
