After stepping down from his position as New Brunswick's justice minister and attorney general in January 2010, the truth behind the reasons came to light in the March 2011 issue of Trot Magazine and today made headlines in the province's major newspaper

.

Longtime harness racing "nut" Mike Murphy left politics amid claims he did not approve of the proposed sale of NB Power to Hydro-Québec. In his March feature, Murphy told Trot that "when someone is integral to government and suddenly disagrees with its direction, it’s incumbent upon them, as a matter of honour, to quietly leave. And, that’s what I did. I quietly left and I said nothing and I’ve never made another public remark until I spoke about hospitals three months after the election.”

The news was the feature story in Tuesday's Telegraph-Journal. Critics are applauding Murphy, who may consider running for the Liberal leadership, for his discretion in the matter.

"He didn't agree with the decisions of the government but he didn't want to rub it in the party's face on his way out," veteran pollster Don Mills told the Telegraph-Journal. "He left quietly without causing trouble."

I agree with Mike Murphys decision 100% only he and Stuart Jamieson had the stud equipment to stand up for the good on all New Brunswickers.YES THESE TWO MEN HAVE INTEGRITY, and if our Province and our great Country is going to survive ----WE NEED TO FIND A PILE MORE LIKE THEM.

The rest followed the lIBERAL leader like a bunch of cows going back to the barn for milking. The liberal inter circle has to be removed if they ever want to be taked seriously again in New Brunswick.

I think Mike will have a hard time, as the inner circle does not want him and they have about $2,000,000.00 sitting around in the war chest to make sure he does not win. So if enough grass roots LIBERALS and people like me who are not Liberals, pay $5.00 for a membership and go to the convention and vote for Mike then he does have a chance.

GOOD LUCK MIKE

Integrity in a politician what is this World coming too??!!
