In the first encouraging development in a long while for Quebec's beleaguered harness racing industry, stallion Taurus Dream is returning to the province

where he made his greatest impact.

Owner Ecurie Reve Avec Moi has announced he'll be standing for the 2010 season at Les Ecuries SOS in Bedford. The stud fee has not been made public.

Taurus Dream was leading sire in Quebec in 2006 and 2007, with offspring that included dominant trotter Val Taurus.

He stood in New York in 2008, for a stud fee of $5,000, and was in Indiana last year.

"I'm very pleased," said Monalisa Pagliericci, co-owner of Les Ecuries SOS. "We needed something positive. Mr. Dubois (Jean-Pierre, owner of Ecurie Reve Avec Moi) is showing confidence in the industry here by bringing back his stallion. Let's hope, after all we've been through, there's some light ahead."

Taurus Dream, now 11, finished fifth in the 2002 Hambletonian. He's due to arrive at Les Ecuries SOS this week and will join pacing sire Pearl River Matt.

I wish the best-of-luck to the owners of Les Ecuries SOS, Monalisa and Francine, two of the hardest working and dedicated people in our industry.
