Cullen, 'Dragon' Share Wednesday Honours At Flamboro

Dontpokethedragon won the $11,000 Preferred Pace at Flamboro Downs on Wednesday (Oct. 25) evening and gave Jodie Cullen her third tally on the card for a training hat trick.

Driven by Cullen's son Travis, Dontpokethedragon made every pole a winning one through timed splits in :27, :56 and 1:24.2 before crossing the wire a half length the best in 1:53.4 over the 'good' track. Lawless Shadow (Tyler Moore) charged late from the pocket, but had to accept second while Wilcat Rocky (Brett MacDonald) rallied from sixth to take the show spot.

Travis Cullen co-owns the six-year-old Custard The Dragon gelding with J J J Stables and Paul Sanders. Dontpokethedragon earned his seventh victory of the season and 33rd career tally, lifting his lifetime earnings to $324,740 over 118 starts. Dontpokethedragon paid $5.80 to win. 

Jodie Cullen also tacked up two more winners including Yourtheone ($5.50), driven to victory by Travis Cullen by a neck in 1:53.3, and Restive Spirit ($3.50), driven to a 2-3/4 length victory in 1:58.2 by Ed Hensley.
