Back in action off a brief layoff, Im Tu Die For extended her current winning streak to five in the $10,500 Fillies & Mares Open Pace on Friday, Jan. 22 at Fraser Downs.

Trainer/driver John Chappell floated Im Tu Die For ($3.30) off the gate from her assigned outside post six starting spot and worked to the lead over the Jim Marino stablemates -- eventual runner-up Sheezgotdawoogies and third-place finisher Just One More -- past the :29.1 first quarter mark. The 3-5 favourite cleared in front of the grandstand then cruised through middle splits of :58.4 and 1:27.2 without facing any serious threats en route to the 1:56 triumph over the "good" track surface.

Chappell trains and drives Im Tu Die For, who had taken a new lifetime mark of 1:54.4 in her last start on New Year's Day, for owner Ross Sharp of Campbell River, B.C. The six-year-old Allamerican Cobalt mare is now two-for-two in 2016, with her win streak stretching back to Dec. 11, 2015. She has earned 16 wins lifetime and purses totalling $136,645.

In other action, half-siblings Hook Line N Minker and Cam On Mink both celebrated wins on the Friday program. Robbie Dedecker's Hook Line N Minker, a four-year-old daughter of Camystic, scored her first career win in 2:01.4 in the fifth race for driver Kevin Anderson and trainer Margaret White. Her eight-year-old sister Cam On Mink, sired by Camcracker, later won the seventh race in 1:56.4 with Paul Davies driving for trainer Pat Matthews and co-owner Dallas Matthews. The win was Cam On Mink's 16th lifetime, but first since 2013. Both mares are out of Think Mink and were bred by Travis Tracey.
