Meadowlands Drops Free Web Feed

The New Meadowlands Racetrack and Racetrack Television Network (RTN) have partnered together to distribute live streaming and race replays of Meadowlands Racetrack harness racing in high definition ('HD').

A sixty (60) day free trial period began on March 11. During this trial offer, Meadowlands Racetrack customers will get to experience live streaming and race replays in HD on playmeadowlands.com and an opportunity to learn more about the subscription packages available for purchase through RTN directly on the Meadowlands Racetrack website. In conjunction with the Meadowlands offer, RTN will also be offering a sixty (60) day free trial period to customers for the RTN Harness Racing package.

Beginning on May 13, customers who would like to continue receiving the Meadowlands Racetrack live streaming simulcast in HD will have the opportunity to choose one of three RTN Online/Mobile subscription packages, each containing live streaming and race replays in HD available to PCs, Tablets and Mobile devices.

  • The Meadowlands Racetrack a la carte package for only $5 per month.

  • The RTN Harness Racing package, with live streaming and race replays from over 50 harness racetracks in North America for only $10 per month.

  • The RTN 'Full-Access' package for just $25 per month gives racing fans the ultimate racetrack experience including live streaming and race replays from every track of every breed plus jai-alai with more HD racetrack video than any other racing website.

Customers will be able to subscribe to the service they desire by selecting the package offer on playmeadowlands.com, which will redirect them to the RTN portal to sign up. All major credit cards are accepted. No minimum subscription term required.

Live streaming of the Meadowlands Racetrack will no longer be available to customers on the racetrack website as of May 13. Meadowlands Racetrack fans and racing fans from around the world will be able to sign up for any of the subscription packages RTN offers. Live streaming and race replays of qualifiers and baby races will remain on playmeadowlands.com free of charge. Meadowlands will also continue to provide its fans race replays in standard definition on the track website once the trial promotion concludes. These race replays will be available to view at the end of each racing day.

“Horse racing in general and harness racing in particular has been slow to hop on board with high definition racing broadcasts,” said Meadowlands Chairman Jeff Gural. “If we hope to attract new fans and new generation of viewers, the racing has to look good. By partnering up with RTN, we’ll not only have live HD streaming on our website and RTN.tv but Meadowlands will be distributed in HD on television in homes everywhere for subscribers of RTN’s service on the DISH Network. Meadowlands will now also be distributed in HD to televisions for other racetracks and OTB’s per a separate agreement with Roberts Communication Network.”

“We are extremely excited to partner with Meadowlands to distribute HD streaming and race replays to their customers. The upgrade by Meadowlands to HD places them in an elite group of racetracks that have committed to providing their customers with the entertainment experience the fans have come to expect with all major sporting events,” said Todd Roberts, President - RTN.

Very surprised ...

I have been involved in the industry all my life. Having an HPI account, I will not be affected from the Meadowlands making. So this won't affect me.

However...

The best form of marketing for your business is your own "product/service".

With all the challenges and issues surrounding our industry today, where is the LOGIC in this ?

Taking away a way for the casual fan to get a taste of your product? Not a good move in my opinion.
