NDC Profile: Bill Davis

The name Bill Davis is synonymous with harness racing success in British Columbia, and on March 21

at Fraser Downs, Davis will be looking to be crowned Canada's National Driving champion, as he will be representing the western region.

Davis is not only a top notch driver, but also a top trainer, as he is currently ranked sixth in Canada. He currently sports a training average of over .300. Davis earned the O’Brien Award of Horsemanship in 2004, and recently joined an elite group of drivers when he hit a driving milestone of 5,000 wins.

Davis is a family man who will have the support of his wife, Laurie, and children, Billy Jr., Megan and Courtney throughout all of the NDC festivities. Without a doubt, he will have the support of the community as well.

Davis was able to take the time to fill Trot Insider in on some interesting background information:

Favourite Horse of All Time – Cam Fella
Favourite Actor – Steven Segal
Favourite Racetrack – Woodbine
Favourite Movie – Flicka
Career Goals – 6,000 wins

This hometown boy will be pulling out all the stops for the NDC and will be on top of his game. Davis will be on familiar turf for this event -- he’s earned the track titles for top driver and trainer in wins and earnings at Fraser.

A win at his home track would mean the world to Davis, the chance to represent Canada at the World Driving Championship would mean even more.
