Jessiejesorjessica Prevails At Red Shores

Jessiejesorjessica sat fourth in the $3,100 Open Handicap Trot at Red Shores Racetrack and Casino at the Charlottetown Driving Park, but got up to deliver as the post time favourite in 1:57.3 on Thursday (Oct. 26) evening.

David Dowling drove the seven-year-old mare in fourth through panels in :28.3, :57.3 and 1:28 before crossing the wire a nose the best for trainer Jennifer Doyle. Her stablemate, Glider Man (Jason Hughes), was second with Incredible Two (Kenny Arsenault) finishing third. 

Danny Birt of Earnscliffe, P.E.I. owns the daughter of Justice Hall who celebrated win number 42 of her career. Jessiejesorjessica paid $4.10 to win.

Battling first-over for the final quarter-mile, Redlandbethanyjean came out on top in the card's $3,000 finale, a fillies and mares conditioned-claiming pace.

Brodie MacPhee was in the race bike behind the daughter of Artspeak as they overpowered the field in a new lifetime best of 1:54.3. Plain Jane (Marc Campbell) did the roadwork on front through stations of :28.1, :57 and 1:26.1 as the post time favourite. Redlandbethanyjean was on the move first-over in the final half and surged forward at the end to win by 1-1/4 lengths for trainer Tom Weatherbie and owner Redland Farms of Bible Hill, N.S. Plain Jane was second ahead of third-place Elm Grove Mistress (Hughes).
