Bluesville Best In Vernon Winners Over

Bluesville

Bluesville snuck inside to capture the $8,500 Winners Over Pace on Saturday, Oct. 21 at Vernon Downs.

Bluesville ($5.80) blasted out of the gate for driver Frank Affrunti and took the early lead. Le Masif (Steeven Genois) took control just before hitting the first quarter first in :27.2. Stewardoftheland (Claude Huckabone Jr.) went first-up to challenge as Le Masif led to the half in :57 and three-quarters in 1:25.4.  As they made the turn for home, Bluesville found an opening on the inside and fought with Le Masif all the way down the stretch.  Old Pal (Truman Gale) and Major Leaguer (Jimmy Whittemore) came charging late on the outside, but Bluesville got there first in 1:55.4. Le Masif had to settle for second and Old Pal finished third.

Bluesville is a four-year-old gelding by Huntsville.  He is owned by Big Sky Ranch and trained by Michelle Warner.  It was his fourth win this season from 25 starts and he now has 12 career victories.

Affrunti and Jimmy Whittemore had driving doubles.
