O'Donnell Triples At Northside

Richard O'Donnell met three of his students in the winner's circle on Thursday (Aug. 10) evening at Northside Downs and Shadowcross Hooper led the pack with a 2-3/4 length victory in 2:00.

Shadowcross Hooper ($7.60) and Keigan Madden were the pacesetter team for the mile, leading the field of six through panels in :28.4, :59.2 and 1:29.1 before taking off down the lane to win. Classic Smiley (Ardon Mofford) finished second and Howmac Napolean (Shawn Lynk) was third.

Owned by Richard and Sandra O'Donnell, Shadowcross Hooper is a five-year-old gelding with five wins this season and 11 career victories.

O'Donnell's other training wins came with Keigan Madden-driven Farmers Fieldstone ($10) and Shifting Views ($3.70), both owned by Richard and Sandra as well. Four-year-old Artspeak daughter Farmers Fieldstone won by 1-3/4 lengths in 2:03.2 while six-year-old Big Jim gelding Shifting Views won by five lengths in 2:00.1.

Q Ts Charlie won the $1,600 Winners Over with Shawn Lynk in the bike for trainer Jeremy Baker and owner John Murphy. 

Q Ts Charlie made every pole a winning one, clocking each panel in :29.4, 1:01.2 and 1:29.4 before winning by 1-1/4 lengths in 1:59. Elm Grove Qwiggly (Larry Snow) finished second with Runaway Mystery (Harold LeBlanc) third.

This season, the seven-year-old gelding has had a record of 4-3-1 in eight starts and in his career. Q Ts Charlie has tallied 21-18-14 in 79 starts. He paid $5.20 to win.
