Boyd MacDonald Passes

In loving memory of Boyd MacDonald

Longtime horseman W. Boyd MacDonald of Crapaud, P.E.I. passed away on Thursday, July 6 at Prince County Hospital at the age of 85.

Boyd was a successful potato grower and dealer, and was passionate about the harness racing industry. He owned and drove his own stable of horses and achieved more than 1,300 wins driving his own horses. He was also an avid card player with “The Boys.”

Beloved husband of K. Claire MacDonald (nee MacEwen). Loving father of Nancy (Reagh) Cousins, Kathy (Brian) Carragher, Cindy (Ed) Doucette, and Tammy (Danny) MacDonald. Treasured grandfather and great-grandfather to Melanie Cousins (Tracy Knowles), Krystal (Nathaniel Rice), Tyler (Sara) Doucette, Kyle (Miranda) Doucette, Devin and Kali MacDonald, and great-grandchildren Ashlyn Cousins Thistle; Hayden, Ellie and Sol Rice; Leah, Reid, Tilly, and Lilah Doucette.

Dear brother of Adele (Claude) Pauptit, brother-in-law of Hollis (Joan), Neil (Gail), Margaret, Lucy Vryenhoek, Eric (Jeannie), Cheryl, and Heath (Pat) MacEwen. Lovingly remembered by many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by in-laws Albert, Norman (Shirley), Ruby (Andy) McNeil, Al Vryenhoek, Blair, and Harvey MacEwen.
