Last Bet A Convincing Winner In Meadows Feature

Last Bet

Parked the entire opening panel, Last Bet still had plenty in the tank to score convincingly in Wednesday’s feature at Hollywood Casino at The Meadows, a $13,400 claiming handicap pace.

The 1-1 favourite, Last Bet wrested the early lead from Western Perch. The pair raced that way through the wire, with Last Bet prevailing by 1-1/2 lengths in 1:52. Golden Gesture was a ground-saving third.

Ronnie Wrenn Jr. piloted the winner, a five-year-old Bettors Delight-West Of L A gelding who boosted his career bankroll to $135,069, for owner/trainer Stacey Currie.

Aaron Merriman and Wrenn each collected three wins on the 12-race card.

Live harness racing at The Meadows continues on Thursday when the 12-race program features a $1,124.17 carryover in the Early Pentafecta (Race 4). First post is 12:45 p.m.
