Strong Second Card Set For Sunday At Truro

Harness racing at Truro Raceway

Truro Raceway will host its second race card of the season on Sunday (May 14) when the Bible Hill racetrack presents a nine-race card with a 1 p.m (ADT) / 12 p.m. (EDT) first post time.

Coming off a very strong opening day that saw the race track post its second highest handle in 21 seasons, the season shows plenty of promise.

Truro has also announced a wagering enhancement this Sunday as they will guarantee the Pick 5 wagering pool this week at $1,500.  The pool is already Canada’s lowest takeout Pick 5 at just 12 per cent.  A snafu last week with HPIbet customers did not allow them to access the 20-cent betting option for that wager, and that issue will be resolved this week.

The track also offers a late Pick 4, with a 15 per cent low takeout and a $750 guaranteed pool.    The rest of the wagering menu takeout percentages were dropped across the board, as new General Manager Steve Fitzsimmons wanted to make the wagering menu very competitive Canada-wide.

The racetrack introduced a new HPIbet Survivor Contest last week, one that saw 81 people participate and had winners from three different provinces.   It’s free to play and can be accessed on truroraceway.ca.

Last week also saw the debut of both Melissa Keith and Grady Hachey as new Racing Analysts for Truro Raceway and the introduction of a pre-game show.

It’s a strong race card on tap with nine competitive dashes. Batterup Hanover looks to go back-to-back in the top class after a convincing win last week.  The pre-game show will begin at 12:30 p.m. (ADT) / 11:30 a.m. (EDT) with Keith and Hachey.   The broadcast can be watched on Truro’s Youtube channel, on their website or through HPIbet.
