PEO Mixed Sale Entries Close Wednesday
Two mares in foal to the sensational Walner and two in foal to kingpin Muscle Hill headline Preferred Equine Online’s May 15 Mixed Sale. Additional entries are being accepted through Wednesday, May 10 and bidding will go live starting Friday, May 12 at preferredequineonline.com.
Three of these mares are carrying their first foals while the other sells with a Walner colt at her side. All four have early 2024 due dates.

“It’s a rare opportunity to acquire mares of this caliber, yet alone four that are carrying ready-made select sale yearlings,” said sale manager David Reid.
The young mares in foal to Walner include Jula Emmylou Me, a Muscle Hill half-sister to world champion, Breeders Crown champion and O’Brien Award winner Emoticon Hanover 4,1:50.2f ($2,044,663), and Pats Inspiration 3,1:58.1h, a “three-in-one” package who sells with her Walner colt at her side (pictured above).
The mares in foal to Muscle Hill, both carrying first foals, are the speedy Watayankee 4,1:52.1 and Fashion Princess 3,1:56.3, who hails from the family of millionaires Back Of The Neck and Broadway Donna.
Reid said the value of these mares could stand alone on their individual pedigrees and conformation, but added, “Keep in mind that Walner yearlings averaged $121,710 and Muscle Hill yearlings $117,076 last fall.”
Reid encouraged potential bidders to visit the Preferred Equine Online website and set up an account prior to Monday’s sale if they haven’t yet registered.
