Stag Party Repeats At Rosecroft

Stag Party

We will find out just how good the first crop of Stag Party offspring are in a couple of months, but this is for certain: dad is doing just fine.

Stag Party and Jonathan Ahle rolled to a convincing 5-1/4 length victory in the $17,000 Preferred Pace on Thursday (March 30) at Rosecroft, pacing the mile in 1:50.3. It was the third win of the year for Stag Party, who has been first or second in four of six Preferred starts at this meet. The seven-year-old son of Bettors Delight - My Lady Day is owned by Let It Ride Stables, Hutt Racing Stable, West Wins Stable and Bottom Line Racing, and the pacer surpassed the $1 million mark in earnings with the victory as his total purses now stand at $1,002,230.

The win for Stag Party was the third of four wins on the night for trainer Michael Hall, and third win for Ahle in the bike.

Jason Thompson took the $15,000 Open I Pace finale with Summer Trader for Hall and owner Manklin Creek LLC, edging stablemate Its Above Me Now.

Two more for the 'under 21 club' Thursday night as 20-year-old Cole Olsen won with One Of The Guys and 18-year-old William Carter won a thrilling finish where seven horses hit the wire within three lengths of each other and he and Docdor Mickey took the win at 27-1.
