On Saturday (Dec. 3), the Standardbred Owners Association of New York (SOANY) held its Board of Trustees and Board of Directors meetings.

The major topics discussed during the Board of Trustees meeting were our financial investments, old and new retirement plans and our welfare plans.

The major topics discussed during the Board of Directors meeting were the election results (see below), new tote board (currently being installed), purse account, condition sheet, 2023 racing schedule (240 race dates), track condition, slanted started gate, and the passing lane. 

At the Board of Directors meeting, all incumbent Directors, were re-elected without opposition:

• Joseph A. Faraldo (Owner category)
• Andrew Harris (Driver/Trainer category)
• Ray Schnittker (Driver/Trainer category)
• Chris Wittstruck (Owner category)
• Peter Younger (Driver/Trainer category)

The following Officers were elected to serve for one-year terms:

• Peter Venaglia, 1st Vice President
• Irv Atherton, 2nd Vice President and Treasurer
• Chris Wittstruck, 3rd Vice President
• Peter Younger, Secretary
