Confederate Readies For Return

Confederate

The qualifying session at Harrah's Hoosier Park on Saturday (Nov. 12) looked more like a snowglobe than a racetrack, but between the wet and heavy flakes there was a top colt getting ready for his final stakes test of the season.

Confederate, the public choice and runner-up in last month's 2022 Breeders Crown for two-year-old pacing colts, was making his first on-track appearance since that second-place finish. Track Tetrick guided the colt to a 1:56.1 score over the off going, coming home in :28.1 while hitting the wire more than nine lengths better than stablemate Bugaboo Lou (Lewayne Miller).

Brian Brown trains Confederate (Sweet Lou - Geothermal) for Diamond Creek Racing of Pennsylvania and Crossover Racing of Kentucky. In seven appearances, Confederate sports a 5-1-1 summary with $495,325 in earnings and a mark of 1:49.2 taken at The Red Mile. Brown told Trot Insider that Confederate will be headed to New Jersey for the Governor's Cup, with eliminations (if necessary) slated for Saturday, November 19.
