Freshman Fillies Top PEO Sale

Led by a pair of stakes quality two-year-old fillies with promising futures, Preferred Equine Online’s Aug. 29 Mixed Sale — comprised entirely of racehorses — totalled $907,500 in gross revenue.

There was only one RNA in the entire 30-horse catalogue, meaning 29 of the 30 horses offered were sold, creating a solid average of $31,293.

Topping the charts with identical bids of $90,000 were Stick With Me and Racin Hungry.

Stick With Me, second in the PA All-Stars, is a freshman daughter of Father Patrick from Non Stick, a half-sister to 2022 Hambletonian favourite and $623,000 earner Rebuff. She was consigned by PEO as agent for trainer Jeff Gregory and partners and bought by Euro Stall SE.

Racin Hungry p,2,1:53.3-’22 ($42,124) is a Pennsylvania Sire Stakes winner who is eligible to compete in the $250,000 final on Sept. 4. She was offered as agent for trainer Scott McEneny and purchased by Glenn Goller.

Other leading sellers included New York’s open mare pacer So Amazing p,3,1:52.3f ($221,544), who was purchased by Warner Racing for $66,000; and Nice Guy Eddie 3,1:58.2f-’22, second in the $100,000 Beal Consolation at Pocono last out, who sold to Jonathan Klee, Justin Bolasci and Hurricane Racing for $62,000.

Reid said he was again pleased not only with the lively participation and results, but by the fact that only one horse failed to sell.

“Sellers once again provided quality horses on our state-of-the-art, online marketplace,” he said. “The bidding transparency it provides is a big plus… it gives buyers a lot of confidence going in, knowing they can walk away with the horse they want at a price that’s a win-win.”

Preferred Equine Online’s next mixed sale is scheduled a week after the Labor Day holiday, on Monday, Sept. 12. Entries are now being accepted at preferredequineonline.com. Reid said this next sale already includes not only racehorses, but broodmares and yearlings, as well.
