Torrin Hanover Romps At The Meadows

Torrin Hanover

Torrin Hanover won a three-ply battle for the early lead and kept right on boogying, rolling to an eye-popping 5-3/4-length victory in the $16,000 Open Handicap Pace on Friday (Feb. 18) at Hollywood Casino at The Meadows.

The seven-year-old Well Said-Transference gelding off clicked off individual quarters of :27.1, :28.2, :27.1 and :28.4 for Hunter Myers to score in 1:51.3 over a “good” surface for his third win in five starts this year. Prince Of Tides and Carolina Beach completed the ticket.

Paul Corey trains Torrin Hanover, who lifted his lifetime bankroll to $431,496 for Kenneth Ashba.

Dave Palone piloted three winners on the 11-race card.

Live harness racing at The Meadows resumes Wednesday (Feb. 23) when the program features a pair of carryovers — $9,814.17 in the final-race Super Hi-5, $9,146.68 in the Jackpot Pick 5 (race 4). First post is 12:45 p.m.
