Tajwon Triumphs In 100th Start

Seven-year-old pacer Tajwon rebounded from an interference break in his last Open outing at Holland Fair and returned to the winner's circle in Sunday's $2,700 feature event at Miami -- his 100th career start

.

Favourite Eagle Hot Shot (Darryl Maron) led the five-horse field of Open pacers past fractions of :29.1, :59.3 and 1:29.1 after leaving from the inside post position, with Drumheller (Greg Manning) pulling the pocket early on and Tajwon following that move. The Tajma Hall-Alberts B Uty gelding and trainer-driver Richard Remillard, who were sitting second over just one and a half-lengths off the lead in fourth at the top of the stretch, rallied home to prevail in 1:59.3 by a nose over Outlaw Spider (Dallas McGee). Eagle Hot Shot finished a quarter length behind in third.

Tajwon recorded his third win of the season in seven starts for owner Ruth Welcher of Roblin, MB. The victory was No. 15 in his 100-race career.
