An article by the Herald Sun states that racing officials in New Zealand have informed the lawyer for Smoken Up's trainer/driver, Lance Justice, that the split sample of the horse's post-race swab has come back positive for the illegal anti-inflammatory substance called dimethyl sulfoxide -- more commonly known as DMSO.

On Friday, April 8 at Alexandra Park in Auckland, New Zealand, Smoken Up held off late bids by some solid horses to post a three-quarters of one length victory in the $800,000 Inter Dominion Pacing Championship.
