Summa Cum Laude To Stand In Ohio

Midland Acres, Inc. has announced the addition of Summa Cum Laude p,2,1:50.2 ($553,900) to its stallion roster for 2022.

A Breeders Crown champion and multiple stakes-winning son of Somebeachsomewhere, Summa Cum Laude brings a tremendous resume to Ohio.

A sensational two-year-old, he collected five wins, five seconds and one third in 15 starts on his way to freshman earnings of $482,275. His fierce battle with Perfect Sting in the $600,000 Breeders Crown final resulted in a dead heat victory in a career-best 1:50.2. He also won two legs and the $204,050 Kindergarten Classic final, and finished second in the International Stallion, Bluegrass, Pennsylvania Sire Stakes and PA All Stars, and third in the $271,900 Governor’s Cup.

A gorgeous son of the great Somebeachsomewhere, he was a $260,000 yearling purchase at the 2019 Harrisburg Sale. His dam is world champion, multiple stakes winner and 100 per cent producer Western Graduate p,4,1:51.1 ($1,305,072), and he is a full brother to multiple stakes winner Im Some Graduate p,1:50.2f ($611,590). His second dam is 100 per cent producer Countryview Miss p,3,1:51.4 ($174,792), dam of five in 1:53 or faster and four $200,000-plus winners.

Summa Cum Laude stands his first season at stud in 2022 for a fee of $4,000. Shares are
