Mainstream Media For Marcus Miller

Young driver Marcus Miller, the 20-year-old son of trainer Ervin Miller, is turning heads in Chicago, Illinois thanks to his million-dollar season on track and his studious efforts in

school.

Miller, who was profiled in Wednesday’s edition of the Chicago Tribune, recorded 242 victories and earned over $1.7 million in purses last year. His biggest win came with his father's three-year-old Cole Muffler gelding, Power Of A Moment, in the $240,000 Orange and Blue Stakes at Balmoral. He also won the track's $50,000 Plesac Stakes and $47,750 Cardinal Stakes with the three-year-old Armbro American trotter Showmeyourstuff.

"When I started driving at the county fairs (as a teenager), right away I knew this was what I wanted to do in life. I was going to try as hard as I could to make this my career," said Miller, who is currently majoring in marketing at DePaul University while driving five nights per week at Balmoral Park and Maywood Park.

"Marketing and business is something I can always use; harness racing is a sport but it's also a business. I don't plan on having a desk job, but if I need to because I get injured or something I'll have the skills."
