The heartwarming story of Emprize Hanover, ‘Junior’ and ‘Elena’ has resonated with the North American Standardbred industry over the course of the past few years. Many surely wondered if the pair would ever face off on the racetrack.

Guess what? It happened.

Junior (real name Fleetwood) and Elena (real name Peristera) finished fourth and fifth, respectively, in the same race at Woodbine Mohawk Park this past Thursday (Nov. 28).

There has been no word as to whether the duo recognized each other in the paddock or on the racecourse. They were reasonably close to each on the track on Thursday – that was before Fleetwood ungentlemanly passed his ‘sister from another mother’ in the stretch.

The story of Emprize Hanover and her two foals was featured as part of Woodbine Entertainment’s O’Brien Award-winning 2016 Pepsi North America Cup broadcast that was aired on TSN. The quick feature appears below.
