Exhibition Park’s June 15 Card Cancelled

Officials with Horse Racing New Brunswick have informed Trot Insider that the organization has made the decision to cancel the program of live racing that was scheduled to take place this Saturday (June 15) at Exhibition Park Raceway.

Organization officials have explained to Trot Insider that the purse money for the first five cards of EPR’s season has been paid out, in keeping within HRNB’s racing budget.

Unfortunately, HRNB has not received its HST returns for the last 12 months due to a long, drawn out CRA audit that has dragged on. Horse Racing New Brunswick is hopeful that the CRA will release the funds very soon, as the money has a huge impact on the racing budget for this season.

In terms of the June 15 cancellation, the decision was made at HRNB’s board level to not race this Saturday. The decision was made in order to keep HRNB in a positive cash flow situation. Horse Racing New Brunswick would like to apologize to both the horsepeople and fans for the inconvenience. HRNB has stated that racing at EPR will resume on Saturday, June 22.

Horse Racing New Brunswick is planning to make up the cancelled June 15 race date on November 11.

HRNB has made it clear that it is committed to racing all 18 dates this season in New Brunswick.
