Red Shores Summerside made a special trackside presentation to Ken Murphy after the reinsman recorded his 500th victory in the bike on Sunday (September 25). The achievement came as part of a four-win performance on the day.

Murphy was only three scores away when he opened the card with a trip to victory lane aboard The Tominator then came back with Sandhill Star for the diving double. He reached the hat-trick and his 500th career win with Myambrose, trained by Carl MacDougall of Ellerslie, P.E.I. in race four. Reincarnate gave the pilot a grand-slam.

The afternoon feature went to Machinthesand in 1:58 flat for Norris Rogers and the ownership group of Noonan Holdings Ltd. – Russell and Karen Noonan of Middleton, P.E.I.

Sent off at 2-1 odds, Machinthesand used his closing brush to catch fraction-setter Doing Some Damage (Brian MacPhee) in deep stretch. Jeb (Jason Hughes) was third. The 5-1-4 triactor paid $59.80. It was the third winner of the program for Rogers, who also clicked with Momara and Sporty B Skipalong.

Terry Gallant had a driving double.
