Hat Trick For Casimir Luciano

Casimir Luciano blasted up the passing lane to claim the Thursday night feature at Red Shores Racetrack & Casino at the Charlottetown Driving Park.

Marc Campbell Casimir Luciano for trainer Ralph Sweet of O’Leary, PE. The seven-year-old gelding notched his third victory in a row and 12th of the season. Motorino (Terry Gallant) was second with Cambest Kisser (Jason Hughes) third in the 1:58 decision.

Majian Magic opened up the first of three trot events on the card for driver James Ripley of Amherst, NS. Holy Molie Maggie used front-end tactics to score in the second division for driver Corey MacPherson and trainer Jeff Holmes of Orwell, PE. The third heat went to Freddie, who tied the track record for older trotting geldings thanks to his impressive 1:58 victory. It was his second win in a row. Marc Campbell did the driving for the Three Wiseman Stable of Cornwall, PE.

The fastest mile of the night was turned in by Jersey Joe in line to Vince Poulton in a sparking 1:55.4. Poulton and conditioner Deanna Clow recorded a driving-training double on the program.

Gilles Barrieau, who celebrated his birthday, also had two winners on the card when he teamed up with trainer Jackie Matheson for the double. Campbell and Corey MacPherson also made two trips to the winner’s circle.
