It will be business as usual for driver Louis-Philippe Roy on his birthday, and that's fine by him.

Roy, who turns 26 on Sunday, has five drives scheduled for today's card at Rideau-Carleton Raceway.

"The celebrations can wait," he said. "I'll be on the road."

Sunday's card will conclude his first month as a regular driver at the Ottawa track, and he's pleased with the results so far.

Through Thursday, he had three wins and 16 top-three finishes, many of them with longshots, from 27 drives.

"It's going really well...better than I imagined," he said. "The last couple of weeks, I've been getting five or six drives a program."

Earlier this month, the native of Mont-Joli, Québec, was named Québec racing's "rising star" at the banquet at Hippodrome 3R honouring the achievers of 2015. In his first full year of driving, he finished seventh in the Hippodrome 3R standings.
