Rockin In Heaven Vs. Older Horses

Fresh off his appearance in the 2015 Little Brown Jug, the connections of three-year-old Rockin In Heaven have accepted an invitation for their sophomore to face open class older horses in his next stakes appearance.

The newly-created Oktoberfest Classic Invitational Pace will go this Friday night at The Raceway in London, Ontario as part of the first ever Oktoberfest celebration which is happening at the Western Fair District over the course of the next two weekends.

Six starters have been confirmed so far for the $50,000 event, including a pair of Molson Pace starters from this past May –- Evenin Of Pleasure and Lets Drink On It. The latter is coming off a strong third-place finish behind Rockin In Heaven's hard-hitting stablemate State Treasurer in this past weekend’s $180,000 Dayton Pacing Derby.

Joining the trio will be Champagne Phil, this year’s Wall Of Fame Pace winner at The Raceway, Push Back, a regular in the WEG Preferred ranks and local pacer Buckeroo who has twice been a winner in 1:50.2 this season at Mohawk.

The race office will finalize the final two spots prior to Tuesday morning’s draw.

The Oktoberfest Classic is part of a fun-filled night that will include 850 Scratch N Win prize giveaways, The ‘Dachshund Dash’ weiner dog races, German food offerings and First Bet Is On Us and Wanna Drive teams both on hand. Each program purchase will also entitle customers to reduced admission into the Oktoberfest Beer Hall next door at the Western Fair District’s Metroland Media Agriplex.
