The Czar Rules At Western Fair

A seasonally-debuting Czar Seelster served notice that he'll be a force in the Preferred ranks at The Raceway at Western Fair District, possibly poised to reign supreme.

In rein to Tyler Moore on Tuesday night, Czar Seelster was pointed to the front and got there over favoured B N Bad (Travis Henry) in a :27.4 opening split. A breather came in the next panel courtesy a :56.4 half before a challenge appeared in the form of Darth Bader (Robert Shepherd), who popped out from third on the backstretch to pressure the pacesetter.

The third quarter flashed up in 1:25.3 with Darth Bader inching closer to Czar Seelster. As the field turned for home, it was clear that Darth Bader could not usurp command would settle for runner-up as Czar Seelster and Moore tripped the timer in 1:55, more than three lengths the best. Conflict Diamond (Alfie Carroll) held off Jackstan (Ryan Holliday) for third.

Greg Weatherbee trains Czar Seelster, a six-year-old Stonebridge Regal horse for David Brigham of Concord, Mich. Czar Seelster now boasts 15 wins from 70 lifetime starts and more than $108,000 in purses earned.
