John Chapman Jr. Passes

Horseman John Chapman Jr. passed away on Friday, December 19 at his home in Orchard Park, New York.

‘Jake,’ as he was known by friends and family, was a true horseman and a true gentleman.

He is survived by his siblings, Cindy (Peter) Chapman-Koch, Cricket (Kevin) Brennan and Cheryl (Mark) Gacek; and nephews and nieces, Matthew (Josie) Brennan, Kevin Brennan, Patrick Brennan, Daniel Gacek and Jessica Gacek. He was preceded in death by his Hall of Fame father John and his mother Janice.

Services will be held at the Lombardo Funeral Home, Orchard Park, N.Y., on Tuesday (December 23) from 1-3 and 5-7 p.m.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Harness Racing Museum and Hall of Fame in Goshen, N.Y., or Hospice of Buffalo, N.Y.

My deepest condolences to the Chapman family for their lose of a love one. I was working for Johnny Chapman senior in N.Y. at the late Roosevelt Raceway, also at Yonkers when the employees working for Johnny got the news that he had a heart attack, walking out the door to come to work.Once again my DEEPEST CONDOLENCES. may JR. rest in peace along with his Father.
