Callahan Reins Five Winners At Dover

Track defending champion Corey Callahan continued his hot hand at Dover Downs chalking up five wins on the Sunday, Nov. 16 program.

Included in Callahan’s five-bagger was a victory in the feature race, reining Captain Jeremiah to victory in 1:53.3 in a $10,200 Delaware 2,3,4&5-Year-Old Pace. Howard Birney conditions the altered son of Artzina-Mindys Laughing that he owns with Archie Peel. The victory is the fourth in his career. Powerful Fella (Allan Davis) was the runner-up. J B Bolt (Ross Wolfenden) took third.

Callahan’s five wins give him 32 for the young season in only 11 days of racing at Dover Downs. Montrell Teague had two wins.

The Delaware Standardbred Breeders Fund gets back racing into its second leg beginning Monday with three $20,000 filly trot divisions plus an $18,000 Filly and Mares Open Pace. Monday through Thursday racing begins with a 4:30 p.m. post. There is no racing Friday and Saturday. Sunday Racing starts at 5:30 p.m.
