Riveting Rosie wasn’t messing around Saturday night at Woodbine Racetrack in preparation for next Friday’s Breeders Crown final.

The daughter of Muscle Mass won a $20,000 conditioned trot in 1:53 to set a new Woodbine track record for three-year-old trotting fillies.

Driven by Paul MacDonell for trainer John Bax, Riveting Rosie got away in third, but was quickly sent to the lead in the second quarter. Once on the lead, Riveting Rosie kept the tempo honest with fractions of :56.3 and 1:24.4 before trotting home in :28.1 to establish the new track record.

The clocking of 1:53 shaved a fifth of a second off One More Ginny’s track record from November 2012.

Last year’s O’Brien Award winner as Two-Year-Old Filly Trotter of the Year, Riveting Rosie has now won five of 16 starts this season to increase her career bankroll to over $880,000. Her biggest victory this season was in the $250,000 Ontario Sires Stakes Super Final at Mohawk on October 11.

The Bax trainee is now set for next Friday’s $500,000 Breeders Crown Three-Year-Old Filly Trot at The Meadowlands. Eliminations were not required for the three-year-old filly trot division because only nine fillies entered. Riveting Rosie has drawn post position eight in next Friday’s final.

Saturday night's regular $34,000 Preferred feature was won by Apprentice Hanover, who held off last week's upset winner Nickle Bag by three-quarters of a length in 1:51.1. Jody Jamieson drove the four-year-old son of Somebeachsomewhere for trainer Ben Wallace.
